When you spend most of the year building gear for work and adventure, it’s great to hit the road, set up the stand and talk face-to-face with the people who actually use it. This year we went across the country – from WA to NSW and QLD – with plenty of ute toolboxes, canopies and setups on display.
Each stop had its own character, but the same thing came through time and again: tradies, farmers and weekend warriors want gear that lasts, makes sense and actually fits how they work.
Day-by-Day Highlights
Dowerin Field Day, WA
Our home turf always delivers. The Dowerin Field Day show had strong crowds and a lot of interest in the steel canopy range. Farmers and tradies loved the 850H and 950H series boxes, and the customisable configuration of the aluminium unistrut canopy had plenty of people talking. The modular drawer setups inside the canopies also caught attention, with visitors saying it’d save them digging around for small tools on site.
AgQuip Gunnedah, NSW
Rain didn’t slow things down at AgQuip. Our dog boxes were a standout, with all four models on display and sold out before the show wrapped. The mineboxes also pulled strong interest, with the wall of drawer setups showing exactly why they’re a favourite year after year. Crowds were steady across all three days, and with more toolbox sales than the past three years combined, this year’s AgQuip was a record-breaker.
Rockhampton Expo, QLD
Rocky brought the sunshine and strong crowds. Our mineboxes drew plenty of interest, but it was the fully accessorised aluminium canopy that stole the show – sold within half an hour of opening on Day 1. Visitors kept circling back across the weekend, with many surprised at just how solid the Paramount Boxes build quality was for the price. Even those who hadn’t come looking for a toolbox couldn’t help but stop, check things out, and walk away with a stubby holder or cap in hand.
Big Boys Toys Mackay, QLD
Right from the entrance, Paramount gear was front and centre thanks to RAD 4×4’s tray setup, fitted with a Black Aluminium 850 Series Full Open, a Black Aluminium 850 Series Minebox and a tapered under tray. The fully kitted black aluminium canopy stole the spotlight, especially with the camping and fishing crowd who loved the flexibility of its unistrut modular system. Quote requests kept rolling in all weekend, and plenty of orange stubby holders walked out the gate. One local even rode past on his bike, spotted the stand, and called out that he already had a Paramount steel box on his ute – and reckoned it was still going strong. We love to hear it!
What We Kept Hearing
Serious quality
The number one comment across the board was about quality, particularly how much tougher Paramount gear felt compared to what they’d seen elsewhere. Some joked about “imported boxes coming good” – that’s because we’ve spent over a decade working with our manufacturer to make sure they’re built to last.
Value for money
Plenty of visitors admitted they expected the price to be higher. Time and again, we heard “well-priced for the quality”. That combination of toughness and affordability clearly struck a chord, with some products sold within half an hour of opening.
Flexibility and real-world use
The unistrut modular systems in the canopies got a lot of attention, especially from the camping and fishing crowd, who loved being able to change their setup as they go. Feedback also came thick and fast on design tweaks, with people telling us how they use their boxes day-to-day – exactly the kind of insight we want.
Big numbers and big interest
We handed out over 200 stubby holders and 150 bottle openers to visitors who came over for a chat. This year’s AgQuip hit record toolbox sales – the best in three years – and the aluminium canopy at Rocky was gone within 30 minutes of gates opening. Even passers-by who hadn’t planned to shop for a toolbox ended up stopping to check us out.
Why It Matters
All the feedback we get on field days matters because it keeps us delivering quality products that fit your needs. Hearing that our gear is tougher than people expect tells us the last 12 years of refining our manufacturing has paid off. Knowing our pricing lands as better than expected shows we’re hitting the sweet spot between quality and value.
The interest in modular systems confirms that tradies, farmers and weekend adventurers want flexibility – they don’t want to be locked into one setup. And when people go out of their way to give us real-world stories about how they use our boxes, that’s gold. It means we can keep improving the range so it actually fits how Aussies work and play.
A big thanks to everyone who stopped by for a chat, had a look through our setups, or gave us honest feedback. It’s clear there’s real respect out there for quality toolboxes that actually deliver on site and on the road. If you weren’t able to make it to the field days and want to chat with our friendly team about gear that works for you, get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.
